NICHRUT coach John Nyikadzino says former Golden Boot winner Rodreck Mutuma could be back to his best after making a bright start at his new club.

Mutuma scored a brace in his first game to help the Midlands side to victory over Mutare City last week.

The former Dynamos, CAPS United and Highlanders forward has worked his way back into Premiership football this month.

He was given a lifeline by his former coach Nyikadzino, whom he worked with at Chegutu side Rangers, long before he made his name in the PSL.

Nichrut travel for a date away to Chicken Inn this afternoon and Nyikadzino was all praises for his striker whom he is tipping to get even better.

“I worked with him before and I always knew he is a very good player.

“That is why I recruited him for Nichrut.

“I am happy that he has not disappointed me. I can tell you that I am now seeing the original Mutuma.

“His performance at training is just good and even against Mutare I expected him to score more than two goals.

“We are playing against Chicken Inn next and I can assure you he will be at the top of his game, he is doing very well at training.

“Chicken Inn are a very good team, but we are ready for the challenge.

“All the players in camp are raring to go,” said Nyikadzino.

Chicken Inn were tipped for the league title before the start of the season, but they struggled to justify such high expectations.
