Nyaradzo donates PPE

Nyaradzo Group has handed over PPEs to the Zimpapers Kariba Bureau as it continues its drive to promote adherence to Covid-19 prevention protocols.

The handover cemenony saw all staff at Nyaminyami FM and Herald at the Kariba Bureau getting masks and T-shirts.

Speaking at the handover, Nyaradzo branch administrator Mr Simbai Mberewere said people should not lose their guard as Covid-19 was still a threat.

“What we are saying is that people should mask up and adhere to everything that helps to stop the spread of Covid-19 which has had a devastating effect in our communities,” he said.

“As Sahwira, we took it upon ourselves to conscientise our communities on the importance of being on guard all the time.”

On partnering with the media, Mr Mberewere said, media peraonnel were opinion leaders who would help in spreading health lifestyles in the community they live.

Kariba mayor Councillor George Masendu hailed the gesture by Nyaradzo saying it would help raise awareness among Kariba residents on the need to protect themselves from getting Covid-19.

Kariba has recorded four new cases of Covid-19 in recent days bringing the total number of cases in the resort town to 208 cases with 13 deaths.

Acting Nyaminyami FM station manager Mr Azaria Banda said the gesture was important in ensuring that staff is protected.

“This is a good gesture by Nyaradzo and as a station we are grateful as it helps protect staff and also send a clear message to the community about the importance of protecting themselves from Covid-19,” he said.
