November has started on a flyer for merry-makers with high profile events dominating the month.
A precursor to the money-spinning festive season, revellers with enough to spare will certainly enjoy the fun.
As we mark the first weekend of November, below are some of the major events to look forward to:
Chipfumo exhibits progress in Harare CBD
After successfully launching his eighth album titled ‘Hope’, Progress Chipfumo will make a stopover at Players Nite Club in the Harare Central Business District (CBD).
Like the proverbial wine which matures with age,Chipfumo is enjoying his maturity that has come of age.
Chipfumo, who has been making remarkable progress before and after launching the album, promises fireworks.
“We are taking each show like our last on earth and that alone shows that we value our fans. We don’t want to disappoint them because they always rally behind us.
“I am also proud of fans who have embraced our latest album that we are sampling during live shows,” he said.
Kinnah retains Mr Mbare title
Zimdancehall stalwart, Kinnah will come under the spotlight tomorrow at Mbare Netball Complex when he unveils his new album titled ‘Ghetto Story’ alongside Jamaican chanter, Dwaymo.
Household names in Zimdancehall including Dadza D, Godfatha Templeman, Etherrton B, Hwindi President, Ricky Fire, Kuelengwende, Abisha Palmer, Merciless Zimbabwe and Don Family from Cape Town, South Africa, are set to grace the event.
Better known as Mr Mbare for representing the ghetto in this particular genre, Kinnah will be out to defend his title with pride on home turf.
Film enthusiasts’ big Friday
Harare’s Theatre lovers will usher film enthusiasts into a bright weekend on style with the screening of well-packaged movie, ‘See Me – When God Remains the Only Hope’.
After showing in other countries, the movie will be shown in Harare by public demand.
Written and directed by Charlene Furusa, the film, which has won the hearts of many in the sub-region, will be screened under the banner ‘Cinema in the Park’.
It boasts a star-studded cast of seasoned and new actors who have shown immense talent in the game.
Teddy Mangawa, who plays Jane’s father and musician Mwenje Mathole are the main actors in ‘See Mee’.
Other members of the cast include Chiedza Matabuka who stars as Sarudzai, Natasha Dlamini (Tholakele), Nyasha David (BK), Charlene Furusa (Jane’s mother), Clive Jonga (Jimbo), Quentine Nyoni (Jimbo’s friend 1), Panashe Mango (Jimbo’s friend 2), Mathole (Mukoma), Kundai Mabviko (Jane), Tawanda “DogOne” (Tapiwa), Nyasha Zuze (Tholakele’s father), Mitchell Kembo (Tholakele’s mother) and Munaishe Nyahalic (Gentlemen caller).
It also parades top dancers that include Tichaona ‘Hero’ Chikara, Tanarka ‘Phint’ Fireyi, Martin Chabuka, Malcolm ‘Malowizy’ Chirove, Adam ‘Kudzie’ Mararirakwenda, Devante Sanganza, Ndomupeishe ‘Ndomzy’ Chipendo, Mishael Ndhlovu, Prince ‘Amazing’ Mbisa, Ropae Muraicho, Enock ‘Cyzmik’ Chiromo, Ellain Ncube, Nokutenda Nyamakawo, Terrence ‘Papa_E’ Kapesa and Sean Mambwere.
Killer T, Enzo’s doubt blitz affair
Versatile chanters, Killer T and Enzo Ishall will exchange notes under one roof in Marondera tomorrow.
The sought-after artistes will hold a double at Chipiwa Gardens in the Mashonaland East capital.
Dubbed “Doubled Blitz Affair’, the party is a must-attend for the people of Marondera and its environs.
For a change, fans will be treated to different types of music after an overdose of sungura they have been accustomed to in the area.
‘Proud Father’ Holy Ten off to SA
Rapper of the moment, Holy Ten, leaves for South Africa where he is due to promote his latest album titled ‘Proud Father’ in South Africa.
He is billed to perform at Beatz Lounge in Pretoria this Sunday.
Holy Ten hardly disappoints in South Africa while Celscius is no stranger at this venue.
