Award-winning Nigerian star Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is set to make his debut performance in Zimbabwe at Old Hararians Sports Club on April 8.

The star confirmed the show on social media that Zimbabwe is part of his African tour set for April. He is currently touring the United States of America.

Wizkid will share the stage with Junior Brown, Cal _Vin, Judgment Yard, Mzoe 7, DJ Rax. DJ Storm. DJ Tafmiles. DJ Mellow T and Cynthia Mare.

Organisers have circulated a poster for the show on social media, showing ordinary tickets going for $20, VIP tickets $50 with VVIP tickets going for $100.

Wizkid started his musical career at the age of 11, releasing a collaborative album with Glorious Five entitled “Lil Prinz” (2001). He rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of the song “Holla at Your Boy” from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011). “Tease Me/Bad Guys”, “Don’t Dull”, Gidi Girl, “Love My Baby”, “Pakurumo” and “Oluwa Lo Ni” were also released as singles from the Superstar album. Wizkid’s self-titled second studio album, Ayo (2014), was preceded by the singles “Jaiye Jaiye”, “On Top Your Matter”, “One Question”, “Joy”, “Bombay” and “Show You The Money”.

It was the 2014 hit “Ojuelegba” that earned him unprecedented international acclaim. The song was so big that it attracted the attention of Canadian music star Drake. The two linked up and remixed the hit after expressing mutual admiration over Instagram.

His work and contribution to the Nigerian Music Industry has earned him several achievements, including a BET Award, a MOBO Award, three Headies Awards, two Channel O Music Video Awards, four Nigeria Entertainment Awards, a Ghana Music Award, two Dynamix All Youth Awards, two City People Entertainment Awards, and a Future Award.
