ZIMBABWE and Nicaragua should enhance their collaboration in various economic fields to achieve their development goals, the country’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Ms Nadeska Cuthbert, has said.

She said this yesterday after paying a courtesy call on Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, at the new Parliament building in Mt Hampden, where they discussed various issues of mutual concern.

Ambassador Cuthbert said Zimbabwe and Nicaragua shared similar history and should collaborate in various areas like mining, agriculture and tourism, among others for their mutual development.

“There are many (areas of co-operation) because Nicaragua and Zimbabwe share a lot in common, in agriculture, in tourism, in mining. Those are also big areas in Nicaragua, but we can also collaborate in every other aspect, because we can learn from each other,” she said.

“We are developing countries and both of us are on a road (to development).

“We have our own road map spread out on where we want to be. And there are many things that can be shared and technologies that can be shared so that we can also learn and continue on this development plan.

“Both of us are open for investment. As Nicaragua, we look forward to mining and agriculture specifically. And, those are the same aspects that would also be of interest in Nicaragua from Zimbabwe investors.”
