Recently established Artgal.Online, an online subsidiary of Swiss Zim Heritage Gallery has been thriving since the launch of their debut exhibition a fortnight ago.
Physically Stationed at Morelife turn-off Domboshava, close to Domboshava caves, the gallery has been frequently attracting many visitors and arts enthusiasts both virtually and physically.
Dubbed “The African Story”, the debut exhibition has seen the gallery become a popular destination for both local and international visitors, including tourists exploring the Domboshava caves and delegations from various embassies.
The exhibition features 20 visual artists including the Swiss Zim Heritage Gallery co-founders and curators Tonderai Mujuru, and Keith Zenda.
Another co-founder Dennis Ruf took part in organising the exhibition and smooth running of the gallery.
From breathtaking landscapes to thought-provoking portraits, the artworks showcased on the platform have captivated audiences around the world, fostering a deeper appreciation for African art and culture.
As Artgal.Online continues to gain traction and continues trending online, it remains committed to its mission of supporting and promoting African artists.
In the exhibition, Mujuru shares his passion for capturing the beauty of African wildlife through his captivating artworks.
Also known as The Pencil Knight, Mujuru’s pieces skillfully bring attention to the importance of both domesticated and wild animals in our ecosystems while raising awareness about poaching and animal cruelty.
“I am honored to express my voice through art and represent the voiceless animals, sharing their stories with a diverse and supportive audience,” Mujuru said.
Zenda showcases his large, colorful portraits celebrating the diverse beauty and significance of women in society.
Among the highlights of the exhibition are thought-provoking spiritual sculptures by seasoned artist Samson Kuvenguwa, whose bark-like textures made it hard to believe they were carved from stone.
His work has garnered global recognition, with several masterpieces gracing international collections.
“Our aim is to promote African art and culture on a global scale,” said Mujuru.
“The online gallery, which aims to showcase the vibrant stories and talents of African artists, has become a go-to platform for art enthusiasts and collectors alike.
“The physical space provides an immersive experience that complements the online platform, allowing visitors to engage with the art and artists on a more personal level.”
With an ever-growing collection of artworks and a strong online presence, Artgal.Online is a testament to the power of digital platforms in connecting people across borders and cultures, celebrating the rich tapestry of African artistic expression.
