NetOne gets new board Kazembe Kazembe

Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Kazembe Kazembe has appointed a new board for NetOne. The board comprises Mr James Mutizwa, who is the chairperson, Mrs Susan Mutangadura (vice chairperson), Mr Winston Makamure, Mr Mathias Mavhunga and Mr Paradzai Chakona.

The previous board was chaired by Mr Peter Chingoka.

Its board members were Sydney Nyanungo, Theophilus Damba, Ruth Ncube, Nancy Samuriwo, Georgina Chingonzo and Nyengeterai Mahaka.

Addressing a Press conference in Harare last week, Minister Kazembe said he was happy that NetOne now has a board.

“NetOne as a Government entity has been operating without a board for more than two months. This has affected its operations particularly in areas where there was need for board decision,” he said.

Minister Kazembe challenged the board to look into allegations of corruption at NetOne.

“We were very careful with our selection in trying to get a board that will deliver. Obviously part of their work is to look into the issues of corruption that have been reported, and the issues surrounding the members involved,” he said

Minister Kazembe said the board comprised people with requisite skills.

“We trust that this board is well balanced and people who are in this board have requisite skills. We trust that they will do a good job for NetOne in the best interest of the institution and the shareholder, the Government, and the public at large,” he said.
