MUSHOWANI Stars managed to maintain their four-point lead in the Runyararo Service Stations Northern Region Division One Soccer League after they salvaged a point against visiting Karoi United in their 1-1 draw at Motor Action Sports Club on Saturday.

The Levison Selous-coached side are now on 50 points, four ahead of ZRP FC who lost 1-0 to DZ Evangel and Beta X1 who managed a draw at home against Harare City Cub.

Selous believes that they will continue to work hard and appreciate any point collected as the championship race hots up. A strike by seasoned campaigner Sunny Saware in the 73rd minute rescued a point for the Madziwa-based side.

“We are happy with the progress so far and as we are taking each game as a cup final we are happy with a point gained as it keeps us going.

“We are not looking much into the four-point lead but taking each of our upcoming games as a total new ball game and we are looking for results.

“We can’t talk of the championship as yet but I believe we are getting there with each passing game and we only need to remain focused,” said Selous.
