VERSATLE Dynamos defender Godfrey Mukambi has revealed he is frustrated with the Harare giants for failing to pay him his winning bonuses and is contemplating parting ways if he finds better pastures during the off season break.

The 27-year old still has a running contract with the Glamour Boys which expires in June next year.

But he feels he may not live to see off the deal, citing lack of motivation to carry on.

He said he had respect for Dynamos as an institution, especially their passionate fans, but he feels the club has not played its part to for him to fully meet his personal obligations.

“Dynamos is our team but I think it’s time to leave. I have a family to take care of and bills to pay.

“The financial situation at Dynamos has prompted players to demonstrate for outstanding bonuses and salaries. I would join any team at this moment, as long as they have a better offer,” said Mukambi.

Mukambi, who was one of the few bright spots in a sea of mediocrity in the largely disappointing Dynamos class of 2018, joined the club at the beginning of 2017 from relegated Tsholotsho.

Dynamos players get their salaries from sponsors NetOne who have been religious in meeting their obligations every month. However, the club has always struggled to keep the bonuses and other benefits up to date.

Mukambi had wormed his way into the hearts of many DeMbare faithful for his commitment which has at times seen him fall foul of the referees’ rule books.

In the just ended season he had the highest number of bookings after accumulating nine yellow cards.

“I’m not a rough player at all. It’s just that I play in a crucial area which requires me to play the way I play, I do it for the team,” he said.

The Dynamos leadership have however committed themselves to clear all the arrears but they have encountered delays and sometimes non-payment of the players’ dues.

The payment dispute was at the centre of the labour row that led to the suspensions of team captain Marshal Machazane, Peace Makaha, Obey Mwerahari and Kingstone Nkatha.

Former captain Ocean Mushure has also since walked away on the club.
