Barnwell Seremwe of Zanu-PF got 18 315 votes; Reuben Mafigu of NCA got 302 and Kennedy Fungai of Transform Zimbabwe garnered 302 votes

0916:Chirumanzu-Zibagwe
Voting has started peacefully in the Chirumanzu-Zibagwe constituency by-election with five candidates are battling for the ticket to represent the constituency in parliament.
The seat fell vacant following the elevation of former MP, Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to to the presidium.
The candidates are Cde Auxillia Mnangagwa of Zanu PF, Dewah Gedzamoyo of Good People’s Movement, Mutodza Munashe of NCA, Rumbidzai Musambasi of Transform Zimbabwe and Wilbroad kanoti standing as an independent.
Polling stations opened at 7am and voters in the constituency have started trickling to polling stations to cast their ballots to choose a member of parliament.
1000: Mt Darwin West
Voting started at 7am at all the polling stations in the Mt Darwin West constituency by-election.
Three candidates Barnwell Seremwe of Zanu-PF, Reuben Mafigu of NCA, and Kennedy Fungai of Transform Zimbabwe are contesting to represent the constituency.
The seat fell vacant following the elevation of former VP Joice Mujuru to the presidium in August 2013.
Cde Seremwe cast his vote at Mudzinga Hall in Dotito and expressed satisfaction with the turnout so far. He was accompanied by Zanu-PF Mashonaland Central provincial chair Cde Dickson Mafios.
1146: Chirumanzu-Zibagwe
Vice President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to arrive at Sheerwod Primary School polling station where he is expected to cast his vote together with Cde Auxlia Mnangagwa.
1259: Chirumanzu-Zibagwe
VP Mnangagwa is making his way into the polling station.
1309: “It’s all over the radio that there are no incidences which makes it more peaceful….we are grateful to our people for maintaining peace. I am very confident that Cde Auxillia is going to emerge victorious”-VP Mnangagwa.
1316: Cde Auxillia Mnangagwa says she is confident of beating the other contestants and vowed to ask hard hitting questions if given the mandate by the people of Chirumanzu-Zibagwe. She said the fact that VP Mnangagwa is leader of the house is not going to make her shy in parliament.
“I’ll ask hard-hitting questions and he has to respond accordingly,” she said.
1320: There has been an increase of more than 10 000 in the number of registered voters in this constituency from 20 000 to 34 193 since the last election in 2013.
1338: VP Mnangagwa said this is the most democratic election he has seen in Chirumanzu-Zibagwe.
“During my time , there were always three contestants but this time around they are five.”
1433: Mt Darwin West
Constituency election officer in Mt Darwin West by-election Mr Exstaff Koti said 5 142 people had voted by 10am. Zec set 46 polling stations in all the 11 wards and voting is progressing peacefully. Mr Koti said it was impossible to have the results today due to communication challenges with other polling stations. Large queues are still there at Mutungagore Primary School in ward 18 and Karaga polling stations.

A number of people were turned away from various polling stations due to varied reasons including wrong ward and non-registration. A source from one of the polling stations said results are likely to be released around 9pm.
