Suluman Chimbetu

Dendera dancer Wayne Kembo, better known as Msoro Msoro, has rejoined Suluman Chimbetu from Tryson Chimbetu, who had been housing him. He, however, said his decision to leave Tryson had not affected his relationship with him. “All is well with me and Tryson, he understands that I have since moved on. I am happy and at the same time grateful that Sulu has accepted that I have another job as an ambulance technician. We work around my work schedule and if we are going to have problems, we will solve them as we go,” he said.

Kembo, who was part of the “rebels” that made the exodus to Tryson Chimbetu’s Marxist Brothers, had his first appearance at the Simon Chimbetu gala.

“Orchestra Dendera Kings has been my home from the days of Simon Chimbetu.
“I was bound to return because that is where I belong. It is unfortunate that we had our differences, but I remained in the Chimbetu family because of my dedication,” he said.

On his newly found career in the medical field at Emras, Kembo said he has never been happier.
“Entertainers earn their a living from the stage, but it was not the case with me. Although my passion lies in dancing, my job helps me to fend for my family and cater for other responsibilities,” he said.

The soft-spoken dancer also commented on the alleged beef between Suluman and Tryson.
“It is sad how people on the outside tend to exaggerate the relationship between Sulu and Tryson. Having separate bands does not make them enemies. Their fathers, Simon and Naison, were united though the latter formed his own band,” he said.

He added that the Chimbetu brothers should be seen simply as people trying to keep the family’s music legacy alive from different angles.
He also expressed confidence in Tryson’s dancers, saying his departure will not destroy what they have worked for.
“Before I left, I worked hard in imparting my knowledge to the dancers.

“I have confidence in the whole team because they are committed and fast learners. They will continue excelling in my absence,” he said.
