People in the Midlands Province say they will continue to subscribe and affirm to the leadership of President Mnangagwa through upholding the Constitution and revolutionary legacy.

The Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs Owen Ncube said the Second Republic under President Mnangagwa, who was inaugurated over the weekend, was poised for greatness.

Sunday’s inauguration marked the beginning of President Mnangagwa’s full five-year term as the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

“On behalf of the Midlands Province and my own behalf let me convey my hearty congratulations to His Excellency, the President for winning resoundingly the 2018 Presidential, Parliamentary polls and local authority elections,” he said.

“Indeed, it was a sweet victory that demonstrates his statesmanship and pragmatism towards attaining a middle income economy by 2030.”

Zanu-PF Midlands provincial chairperson Engineer Daniel Mackenzie Ncube congratulated President Mnangagwa, saying Zimbabwe was destined for better fortunes.

He said President Mnangagwa proved to be a man of action and a servant of the people.

Eng Ncube said the Zimbabwe is open for business mantra is now coming to fruition reiterating that Zimbabwe and Zanu-PF under the leadership of President Mnangagwa was poised for socio-economic growth.

“As a province, we are very happy that President Mnangagwa took his oath of office signalling the birth of the Second Republic. Indeed history has been made and we thank God for this day,” said Eng Ncube.

“Under the visionary leadership of Cde Mnangagwa, more business opportunities are coming our way and as a nation we must all support His Excellency in any way we can to take our country out of the doldrums and realise more investment opportunities.”

Gweru City Council commissioner Mr Enoch Size said, “Congratulations to President ED Mnangagwa.

“We expect him to increase the momentum to turn around the economy. Zimbabweans want improved good roads, clean water, jobs, housing for example. The momentum he has created in the past seven or so months must continue.”

Prominent businessman Dr Tinashe Manzungu of TM Group of Companies, which is into property development, health and ICT said the business sector was looking ahead to tapping into over $20 billion worth of investment deals already bagged by the country under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.

“Under the new dispensation, President Mnangagwa managed to attract potential investments worth over $20 billion,” he said.

“Now that he has taken oath of office, we expect more and as business people we say congratulations His Excellency, we are here to work with you for socio-economic development of the country.”

Chief Ngungumbane of Mberengwa said they were also confident that the livelihood of people living in the rural areas was going to positively change.

He said already the Government under President Mnangagwa has been involved in roads rehabilitation and infrastructural development in rural areas.
