MBARE Academy received a timely boost from Imara Capital at the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival when they were presented with a kit sponsorship deal. The deal includes warm up  and playing kit and Imara executive director Tino Kambasha said: “We are happy to be associated with Mbare Academy. We have been watching the play over a period of  time.

“Us coming on board the Mbare Academy family with the kit is a beginning of great things to come and in Sahili Imara means strong, something which brands well with the Mbare Academy logo which is of a strong gorilla.

“Mbare have that extra edge and spirit and all that is also embodied in Imara,” said Kambasha.

Mbare Academy chairman Maxwell Mutowo  added: “We feel very humbled to have Imara as this sponsorship comes in at just the right time.

“They have not only been provided with the kit sponsorship but they have also been taking care of our camp and transport for the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival so we really appreciate what they have done for us,” said Mutowo.

Mbare Academy have been one of the teams o watch at the festival and on Tuesday for the third year in a row got the better of St Georges College but the Dragons could not believe what had hit them prompting to ask for identity cards.

And Mbare were found to be correct with just the right aged players.

“The game was tense, we knew it was going to be a tough game but we came prepared knowing that a lot was expected from us because we had beaten them over the last two years and I am happy we played in such a manner.

“The boys followed and stuck to the game plan, and the coaches are doing a great job I have to commend how they are going about their job,” added Mutowo.
