That’s more on the outside. Does the New BT-50 have the interior comfort to match?
Attention to detail and dedication to comfort dominate the interior of the All New Mazda BT- 50. The two tone colour scheme and silver finish accents create a clean, modern feel that introduces a new level of refinement to the styling of pick-ups.

Better still, the New BT-50 is packed with various interior features such as an integrated audio system with AM/FM Radio, a six CD changer which is MP3 compatible, steering mounted audio controls, Blue-tooth telephone connectivity which supports voice dialling and USB/iPod compatibility. There is also a 3.5 inch multifunction display, dual-zone full automatic air-con system* and cruise control* to make every adventure more enjoyable.

What does the New BT-50 have to offer in terms of packaging?
The all New Mazda BT-50 comes in single, double and freestyle cabs, a total of 21 model variants to suit your needs and lifestyle. The bodies are generally wider, longer and taller than every other pick-up on the market. Wider bodies will give you more shoulder room and comfort as well as unparalleled driving stability. Increased height gives you more headroom and taller seats for superior ergonomics.

Longer bodies give the New BT-50 more legroom and comfort particularly for back seat passengers. On the whole the loading capacity is increased tremendously and will range from 1 100 to 1 300kg depending on the body type and engine.

And that’s not all, the all-New BT-50 commands top of class towing capacity of up to 3 350kg whether it’s business or leisure.
Driving dynamics: will the engines be able to deliver under these massive bodies?

In the all New BT-50, the power and performance of an SUV meets the ride comfort of a passenger car, placing the vehicle in a category of its own. The engine line up consists of two diesel variants both with common rail direct injection (CRD) system. There is a 2.2L 4 cylinder engine and a 3.2L 5 cylinder diesel engine. A 2.5L petrol engine motor completes the line up.

The diesel engines mainly come with 6 speed gearboxes, manual/automatic. The 2.2CRDi engine is offered in two power versions, 88kW in the basic workhorse and 110kW in the higher spec models, thanks to an oil cooled variable nozzle turbo charger.

The 20 valve 3.2L CRD is Mazda’s first 5 cylinder engine which delivers an amazing 147kW of power and lots of torque to spare. It is set to be the most powerful double cab on Zimbabwe’s roads. All 4X4 models feature a shift on the fly switching between 2WD and 4WD.

What safety features are there to give us comfort in this Active Lifestyle Vehicle?
The all New Mazda BT-50 is not only easy on the eye, but its unique styling is also responsible for an aerodynamic shape that contributes to high speed stability, fuel economy and reduced cabin noise. All models feature front disc brakes for superior braking performance.

The launch
The All-New Mazda BT-50 will be launched at the Zimbabwe Motor Show at Old Georgians Sports Club this Friday at 6pm and will be exhibited throughout the show up to Sunday the 19th 2013.
