Manyame Air Force Base Primary School celebrates pupils Tanyaradzwa Madebwe grade 7A overall student of the year

Manyame Air Force Base Primary School recently held its annual speech and prize giving ceremony. Group Captain Sakupwanya, stood in for the Base Commander Air Commodore Masakadza, as the guest of honour.

The end of year average pass rate for junior classes was 97,5 percent.  45 Early Childhood Development (ECD) and infant learners and 300 grades 3 to 7 received prizes.

Munashe Muganhiri in Grade 2B was the Infant learner of the year while Tanyaradzwa Madebwe in Grade 7A was the overall learner of the year.

The school head Mr Patrick Chitambo highlighted achievements of the current SDC which include the ongoing construction of an ECD Centre, installation of flood lights, repairing of 400 chairs and 350 desks, repairing the school marimba kit and repairing of 21 classroom doors and locksets.

Textbooks were also procured: “At least 10 new curriculum textbooks for each learning area per grade were made available for the learners.” Said Mr Chitambo

“Decorative shrubs — golden jurantas — at the flag area have also been planted and upgrading of the parking lot. We also introduced market gardening as a production unit at the school,” added the head.

Mr Chitambo appreciated the support from the stakeholder, Air Force of Zimbabwe Commander Air Marshal Elson Moyo who donated 200 school bags and assorted stationery through the Commander’s Charity Fund.

“We owe the achievements especially to our stakeholders, Commander Air Marshal Elson Moyo, companies, parents and individuals.

“Grade 7 parents donated a brand new TV and DVD player while several well-wishers donated stationary, trophies, medals, certificates, a banner, balls and refreshments were.” Said Mr Chitambo.
