HE just takes your breath away!

As expected Daiyaan Manuel blew the opposition with some scintillating riding to be crowned the overall winner of the  MX2  Class during Round Five of the 2024 RK Fuels Bogwheelers Club National Motocross Championship series at Donnybrook Park Raceway in Harare on Sunday.

Manuel has already been crowned the 2024 MX2 Class National Champion with one more round to go, but he was just taking no prisoners at Donnybrook on Sunday where he was just untouchable.

Tariq Shelton tried to go bumper to bumper with Manuel in the opening race, challenging his authority on the track ,but the stylish rider could have none of it as he raced away with both Moto 1 and 2 titles to be crowned the King of the Day in the MX2 Class.

“It was just breathtaking and fun at the same time,” Manuel said after taking the top step on the podium ahead of Shelton and Riley Rocher.

Rocher redeemed himself by winning the 125cc Class after a tough battle on the track with Shelton and South African rider Kabelo Ledwaba.

The 65cc Class had a great battle in the first moto with Chris Mufanochiya coming out on top, unfortunately, he had a big crash in the second moto leading to a DNF.

Chris is now trailing Victor Nyamupfukudza by 44 points, which means even if Victor fails to race in the final Round 6, he will still win the championship.

“What a battle it was in Moto 1 between Victor and Chris unfortunately Chris crashed out and Victor walked away with both the overall title of the day and the national title.

“Congratulations to Victor, he had an outstanding season,” said his father and manager, Simbarashe Nyamupfukudza.

He said Victor was going to take a deserved rest before preparing for the season-ending Zimbabwe Summer Series which is coming up in December.

“Nobody wants to miss the Zimbabwe Summer Series and we are going to give it a big shot in both the 65cc and 85cc classes,” the elder Nyamupfukudza said.

On Sunday the 85cc Class was dominated by South African rider Kabelo Ledwaba, with a great battle between Seb Wright and Kudzwai Chitsurura for the podium positions.

Rocher and Shelton also had some great back-and-forth racing in the 125cc class with Riley coming out on top.

At the end of the day, it was a great day of racing on a new track layout, the track was very fast and flowing.
