MORE than 500 delegates from Manicaland are expected to attend the Zanu-PF’s Annual National People’s Conference slated for Esigodini in Matabeleland South Province next week, where preparations are already at an advanced stage.

Manicaland provincial secretary for information and publicity Cde Oliver Mandipaka said preparations were progressing well and they were looking forward to attending next week’s event as a united front.

Cde Mandipaka said accreditation of delegates was progressing well, with the majority of delegates having been accredited.

“We are progressing well with the preparations and accreditation of delegates was going on smoothly as we are expecting about plus or minus 500 delegates to attend the conference from Manicaland,” he said.

Cde Mandipaka said they were expecting all the political districts to forward their resolutions to the province by end of this week.

He said the ruling party was holding inter-district meetings to come up with resolutions that would be taken to the conference.

“As you are aware, no resolutions were made during our last PCC meeting, said Cde Mandipaka. Districts are in the process of holding meetings so that they come up with resolutions that will be forwarded to the province before being taken to national executive for consideration.

“At our last provincial coordinating committee, the provincial chairman emphasised that all districts should submit their resolutions to the province by December 8,” he said.

Cde Mandipaka added that they were looking forward to attending the conference as a united front with highest level of discipline.

Our national chairperson, Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri, was clear and she emphasised on the need for discipline within the party during our last PCC meeting,” he said.

More than 5 000 delegates from across the country are expected to attend the annual conference.
