LONDON. — Manchester United have reportedly spoken to representatives of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino about succeeding Louis van Gaal.

Pochettino has been hugely successful at Spurs this season, and has guided the north London club to second place in the English Premier League soccer table.

The Argentine is under contract until 2019 and Spurs want to offer him a new improved deal.

But the Sun claim United are hopeful of bringing Pochettino to Old Trafford.

They see him as a man who can lead them long-term and deliver trophies as well as good football.

However, White Hart Lane chief Daniel Levy would demand huge compensation of as much as £20 million for their manager.

United have also held talks with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who is desperate to land the job at Old Trafford. — The Daily Express.
