A 25-year-old man from Chitsvatsva Village, Seke, was fined $30 after he was convicted for possessing 0,002 grammes of dagga which he had forcibly snatched from an alleged drug peddler and refused to pay for. The court heard that the suspected peddler was angered by the accused refusal to pay for the sachet of dagga and proceeded to a police station, where he reportedly opened a false robbery case.

The police are understood to have reacted swifly. Zechias Matute Chibaduki pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful possession or use of dangerous drugs when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mrs Yeukai Chigodora. Mrs Chigodora ordered him to pay a $30 fine or risk spending 15 days in jail. The State proved that on October 5 this year, at around 3 pm, Chibaduki met up with the alleged drug peddler, Lincoln Chihobvu, at Murisa Business Centre and took one sachet of dagga from him but refused to pay for it.
