Malaysia opens doors to Zimbabwean students

MALAYSIA has opened doors for Zimbabwean students to learn at universities in the Asian country as the two countries continue to deepen their relations in the education sector.
Raffles Global Education Services, a Malaysian recruitment agency yesterday hosted an Education Fair in Harare where seven top-ranked universities in Malaysia exhibited their programmes to prospective students.
Students from schools across Harare, Marondera and Norton attended the fair.
Charge De Affairs from the Embassy of Malaysia Mr Aniff Fauzi said the fair was part of strengthening the existing relations between Zimbabwe and Malaysia.
“For several years we have never had this kind of fair and we have seven private universities from Malaysia showcasing their degree programmes to the students here in Zimbabwe,” he said.

“The good thing about this fair is that these universities are represented by a real agency and prospective students can get legit information about the universities they are interested in. The universities also offer partial scholarships of 50 percent reduction from the tuition fees.
“I hope that through this fair, prospective students from Zimbabwe can also get exposure to Malaysia. Education is one of the key areas that Malaysia and the Government of Zimbabwe are working on deepening ties.”
Raffles Global Education Services managing director Mr Shurinder Rahoo said they are offering free services to Zimbabwean students.
“We welcome all Zimbabwean students who would like to study in Malaysia to engage us for on-spot admission,” he said.
“Those who have applied today are getting partial scholarships of 20 percent to 50 percent depending on the type of programme they want and their qualifications. S tudents can get affordable quality education in Malaysia.”
