It is here and you can feel it, so why not go and touch it on October 8 when gospel music firebrand Minister Michael Mahendere hosts a live recording for his “Getting Personal With God 4 Live DVD” at the City Sports Centre in Harare.

Well, it will be a gospel music festival, perhaps the biggest this year, that is if nothing extraordinary happens before year-end, considering the number of big name gospel musicians who will belt it out at the concert.

While Mahendere’s group Direct Worship will be the major attraction, a host of top gospel music performers will give gospel music lovers something to look forward to for the concert that starts at 12pm ending at 9pm.

Which gospel music lover can stay away at an event they will find Mahendere, Takesure Zamar, Everton Mlalazi and United Family International Church Choir in one place.

Add to this rich list Tinashe Magacha with his youthful gospel music appeal, Joyful Praise Choir, Chisipite Worship Team and a yet to be named foreign guest, then you have the biggest gospel music concert before year-end.

Speaking to The Herald Arts and Entertainment, Mahendere said respected worship singer Zamar and the fast growing Mlalazi were now on the list of performers.

“It’s getting bigger and better and we are happy to announce that the exciting Everton Mlalazi known for his soulful blend of gospel music will also be part of the performers,” he said. “This follows the announcement of Minister Takesure Zamar as one of the performers last week. We are geared and excited about this event and we are praying for the grace to start and finish strong.”

Tickets to the concert are selling for US$10 standard, US$25 VIP and US$50 VVIP and they are available at Gladiola Couture Semi Levy, Thace Apparel in Belgravia and all 4 May Shops in Harare CBD. “It is going to be a powerful praise and worship experience come October 8 and we are happy with the preparations so far,” said Mahendere.

“Tickets are already on sale and we were highly encouraged by the responses and associated hype. We urge gospel music lovers to bring the whole family for this calendar event.”

Mlalazi, who has continued on a steady rise since he broke into the gospel music scene, promised a spirit filled and uplifting performance.

“The Lord is gracious and everything we are and that we have become is because of his grace,” he said. “It is, therefore, an honour to be performing at the Getting Personal With God 4 Live DVD recording and concert. We are praying for the best and believing God for an outpour.”

According to Mahendere, the City Sports Centre concert comes with a business expo component whereby partnering brands will showcase their products and services at their exhibition stands, as well as on LED screens dotted around the venue.

“This one is different in that we also want our followers to enjoy various specials and products from our partners as they enjoy good music,” he said.

“They will get to open bank accounts and funeral policies, get educated on how to acquire stands and build homes as well as enjoy various goods and services on promotion come the day. We believe our followers also need to invest and plan wisely for the future.”

Various brands have partnered the event and these include Kamili Investments, Realtor Vile, Active Irrigation and Old Mutual.
