The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Zimbabwe will tomorrow host the Korea Festival 2024 at the Celebration Centre in Harare to celebrate and promote cultural exchange between South Korea and Zimbabwe.
The event is one of many that celebrates the main theme of the year, ‘Celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries’.
In a statement, the Embassy of Korea in Zimbabwe said the festival will open with booths that will display and sell various products and services that represent Korean culture.
The embassy said the products include but are not limited to Korean cosmetic products (K-beauty), Korean foods (K-food) and Korean companies (KIA, Hyundai, LG).

“The highlight of the event is the Korea National Taekwondo Demonstration Team (Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team) who are being flown into the country by the Embassy of Korea to give a once-in-a-lifetime world-class exclusive performance,” reads the statement.
This will be the team’s first time visiting and performing in Zimbabwe.
“The Kukkiwon Demonstration Team was founded in 1974 and their mandate is to promote the Korean representative martial art, Taekwondo, through its demonstrations and actively serve as ambassadors of Korean culture to world audiences.
“They have visited over 120 countries and have performed on world-class stages such as America’s Got Talent, Nuclear Security Summit (2012) and others.”
The embassy said the team tells authentic Korean stories through the use of basic movements.
“The event is free of charge and family-friendly. It starts at 3pm.
“The Kukkiwon Team performance is slated to start at 4:30pm. Booths will be closed and guests will be ushered into the auditorium for the performance.
