Some smallholder farmers in parts of Beitbridge District are starting to plant afresh after their fields were washed away by incessant rains pounding the area.

Beitbridge Agritex officer, Mr Masauso Mawocha, said they will soon carry out a crop and livestock assessment to ascertain the extent of the damage across the district.

He said the area had so far received 75mm of rains that also damaged roads and bridges.
