JUST IN: Chombo bail ruling tomorrow Ignatius Chombo arriving at the Harare Magistrates court

FORMER Cabinet Minister Ignatius Morgan Chombo, accused of illegally parcelling pieces of land in Harare and Zvimba Rural District Council during his tenure of office as Local Government Minister between 2000 and 2015, will spend another night in custody after the court deferred his matter to tomorrow for bail ruling.

Harare regional magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje said he was still going through the bail submissions. Mr Mambanje was supposed to hand down the ruling today.

Chombo is charged with fraud and five counts of criminal abuse of office. He is being represented by Professor Lovemore Madhuku, Mr Tungamirai Muganhiri and Mr Munyaradzi Bwanya.

Mr Charles Muchemwa appeared for the State.
