While Alick Macheso performs at the other end of town in Kuwadzana, on-fire Jah Prayzah invades the sungura master’s territory in Chitungwiza.Chitungwiza has for a long time been regarded as Macheso’s homeground and Jah Prayzah rarely performs in the area. Tonight he invades the city with a show at Tanza Centre where he shares the stage with Jean Masters.

It remains to be seen if Jah Prayzah will be able to conquer Chitungwiza this time after his previous attempt at Aquatic Complex late last year did not yield positive results.

His manager Keen Mashapaidze said they are ready to conquer the city and promised a historic event.

The gig is the official opening party for Tanza Centre, which has become a popular joint since it opened in December last year.

The centre, which is adjacent to the Aquatic Complex, has attracted merrymakers from various places over the past month.

Management at the joint said the official opening party comes two months after the opening of the joint because they are now confident they can hold huge numbers and have gained confidence from merrymakers that throng the place in huge numbers every weekend.

Manager of the joint Richard Chibvongodze said the party will also mark the beginning of a live show programme that would see a number of big artists performing at the venue.

“We are overwhelmed by the response we have witnessed so far from our patrons. The place became very popular within a month and the numbers are increasing every week. We feel it is time to publicly announce our arrival on the entertainment scene,” said Chibvongodze.

“We will try our best to keep our patrons entertained. The feedback we are getting shows they are enjoying the our current programme and service, but we want to go a step further to bring their favourite artistes for live shows.

“We are planning to bring big artistes every month and bringing Jah Prayzah for our first show will give us the much-needed live show experience that we will use in our next shows. We are expecting thousands of revellers at this show and it should be a big way of celebrating our arrival in showbiz.”

Tanza Centre has an advantage over other venues because it has outdoor entertainment facilities as well as a nightclub in the same complex. Both divisions are spacious and people can alternate between them according to their music tastes and service choices.
