Is first term right time for athletics?

1501-1-1-IMG_5825It is just the beginning of a new year and the school term has just commenced which also means it is the beginning of a new sporting season and most schools around the country are starting athletics, which is the popular sport in this first term. Do most students share the same sentiment that athletics should be the sport of this term?

Students should concentrate more on athletics during the first term because the sport demands so much and the first term in not very busy academically. This gives students more time to concentrate on sport as well as balancing it with their studies. Students also need to be physically strong and athletics can help any student who is willing to run rather than specialised sports like football or boxing which require skill.

We should concentrate more on athletics because every student is usually required to participate unlike other sports where students know where their talent lies. The second term should then be for those who have specific sports like basketball and other so that those who are not interested in any sport should concentrate on their academics.

I just love athletics so when we are still fresh from the holidays and still have the energy to run I think athletics does the magic. Also it is good because usually when students are coming from the Christmas holidays they all need to shed their weight because of the junk food they would have consumed.

Everyone should be involved be in some form of sport and athletics is good for everyone because no skill is required therefore everyone can be involved. It is a good sport for everyone`s health and first term when pupils have less work it can help them to be the at their best health wise.

Exercise is good and every sport is necessary. Students should actually choose which sport they want to concentrate on during the first term so that they will have enough time for preparation of seasonal sports. However, it is wise that every student be involved in athletics because this also helps anyone in any other sport to prepare for their specialised sport because running is involved in almost every sport.

I think swimming should be done first term because it will be hot during this time of the year and many of us would want to cool off as well as improve our health. Swimming therefore offers more than other sports like athletics which demands a lot of energy without cooling you off at the same time.

Physical aid to the body is very necessary but I think sporting rules should be relaxed in schools so that anyone should be allowed to choose which sport they want to do rather than limiting people to Athletics during the first term. I personally like athletics but that should be my choice rather that a forced sport.

Pupils should be active in the first term, therefore I think athletics is the only way to achieve such. It is not only about education but sports are necessary at all schools because it is also a time in which nothing much will be going on since it will be the first term without examinations and there is not too much pressure.

The sport that is best for first term, of cause, should be athletics and nothing else. This is because it creates fitness for second term when there will be soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, volleyball and handball. So the first term paves way for other sports.

If students do not exercise, there are consequences. First term should be for athletics in every school. This is so as to enable students to exercise, because without exercising fat accumulates in the body and this might lead to different diseases. Therefore if students get to exercise, it enables their brains to work properly, even in answering questions in class. Exercising means fat would be reduced.

Soccer is the best sport for first term, without soccer there is no sport because soccer is one of the best sports in the world. Therefore it should be practiced in first term such that when we go for school tournaments on the second term part of it, we will be champions and that is what I believe. Second term is the time for preparations for exams, then third term is the term for real exams, therefore soccer is good for first term.
