Illegal billboard matter deferred

Two company directors accused of putting up an illegal billboard in Borrowdale denigrating a property developing company have applied for stay of proceedings.
The duo Mark Strathen of Paragon Printers and Grant Russell of Fairclot Investments who are facing criminal nuisance charges are being represented by Gwinyai Mharapara and Tafara Danana.
The State led by Mrs Shambadzeni Fungura told the court that it would respond to the application on December 6.
The matter was deferred to December 11 for ruling. The pair had their latest application of exception dismissed by the presiding magistrate Ms Sharon Rakafa.
The matter has been on roll since 2021 owing to several postponements caused by the accused persons.
Mrs Fungura had been accusing the duo of using delaying tactics to derail the trial.
