An anointing is the empowerment and the enablement to do something, it is given to the church, did you know, you can be filled with the Holy Ghost, speak in tongues but not anointed?

Luke 3;21-22 reads: “Now when all the people were baptised, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptised, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, ‘Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased’.’”

We cannot talk of the anointing without talking of the Holy Spirit; Jesus for 30 years was on earth, but did no miracles. He went to be baptised, a dove came and set upon him, this dove symbolised the Holy Ghost; if Jesus needed this man, how much more you?

He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, whenever you face a test all you need to do is pray so that you may pass it with flying colours. Most of the times, nobody will know that you have passed, sometimes even you, but you will notice the change in how you start doing things, a little differently from before. Whenever you are tested, do not be quick to run and say devil I bind you, say Holy Spirit remind me; the devil can be used to test you as well.

Jesus was tested for 40 days and 40 nights, after conquering he went to the temple to preach, opened the book of Isaiah and read were it is written: “the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, He has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor …” The difference between churches is in anointing; by faith one can lay hands on the sick and they get healed, but it is different when you are anointed.

With the anointing you are like a sharpened axe, being a preacher minus the anointing means you are a blunt axe. May the Holy Ghost fill you and anoint you, money comes, money goes but anointing attracts it. As we were instructed, “go ye therefore and preach”, you need the anointing of the Lord to be able to do so. Evangelism is not advertising one’s church, it is easy to preach but difficult to be anointed to do so.

Your preaching must be accompanied with healing, deliverance, signs and wonders; mere preaching without these is not good enough. This is the dispensation that is going to usher the coming back of Jesus Christ, hence the time to be anointed. When it comes, you cannot contain it, for it is power, it is fire. God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is in the business of anointing people, reach out and touch God, do not be afraid but be drunk in the Lord always.
