THEY haven’t been man and wife for 24 years, but on Tuesday Madonna and Sean Penn looked like newlyweds at the party for Steven Klein’s counter-revolutionaries in New York City.
The singer found time to hug and flirt  with her ex-husband even though other stars such as Lindsay Lohan and Anderson Cooper were   clamouring for her attention at the Gagosian Gallery.

No wonder Debi Mazar said in July that the  Bad Boys actor was the Grammy winner’s “true love”.
Dressed in a tight black dress with curled blonde locks and bright red lipstick, the “Justify My Love” singer (55) wasn’t missing a thing, except her boyfriend Brahim Zaibat (27), who was nowhere to be seen.

That’s good considering she only had eyes for Sean, (53), who she was married to for four years.
Sean, attired in a black suit, black tie and white shirt, didn’t hesitate to smile as he put his arm around his ex-wife.

After taking a few photos together, Madonna thanked Sean for coming to the event and he thanked her right back by kissing her on the cheek.

This isn’t the first time Sean has supported his former flame.
In October he attended her MDNA concert at LA’s Staples Centre.

According to reports at the time, the singer “seemed to be performing entirely for Sean” and ‘their chemistry was off the charts.’
“He was saying things like “Amazing!” and “She’s so hot!”’ an eyewitness said.

After splitting with the Blonde Ambition artist, Sean married Robin Wright who he has since split with.
They have two children, Dylan (22) and Hopper (20).

Madonna married Guy Ritchie in 2000 and had a son Rocco (13), but they divorced in 2008.
She has daughter Lourdes (16) with trainer Carlos Leon, who she never married.

In recent years she has adopted two children, David and Mercy.
During their four year marriage Sean and Madonna worked together twice. They co-starred in the film “Shanghai Surprise”, which was panned, and she sang the hit song “Live To Tell” for his drama “At Close Range”.

Their union was fraught with violence though.
In June 1987, Madonna went to the Cedars Sinai hospital for an X-ray after Penn hit her across the head with a baseball bat.
In July the singer’s long-time friend actress Debi Mazar told Andy Cohen that Sean was Madonna’s true love.

In 1991, Madonna herself confessed she still had feelings for Sean in her “Truth Or Dare” documentary. When asked “Who is the love of your life?” Madge says, word for word: “My whole? Sean,” and looks embarrassed.

After having some fun with her ex, who was spotted smoking an E cigarette on Wednesday, Madonna turned her attention to Lindsay, who was dressed and styled in a very similar fashion to the icon.

Madonna even got on stage.
After the 17 minute short film, which she co-directed with photographer Stephen Klein, she performed a series of dances and sang the Elliot Smith song “Between The Bars”.

Joined on stage by her eldest son Rocco, the mother and son duo put on a show.
While Madonna slipped on a PVC look trench coat, her son showed off his acting skills as he stood  beside his mother in an all black combination. — Daily Mail.
