Huawei in 5G exhibition

Chinese multinational technology company Huawei recently opened its doors for Southern African journalists to experience first-hand 5G technology and its benefits.

The technology behemoth is leaving a footnote on the continent, with programmes such as the Huawei Seeds for future programme a bursary to educate Zimbabwean students studying information technology.

Recently, the media from across the Southern African region experienced Galileo, Huawei’s exhibition hall that explains 5G technology and its benefits.

Speaking after the exhibition, Huawei Zambia director of public relations, Hansen He, talked of the importance of the virtual interaction.

“Huawei was delighted by the opportunity to help the media understand this new technology and its impact on industry,” he said.

The Galileo exhibition hall demonstrates the social and economic benefits of 5G technology and explains the importance of such technologies for the future.

Executive Advisor for Huawei’s Carrier Marketing Business Group, Brian Chamberlin, said 5G will accelerate Africa’s leap into the digital age.

“It gives people and businesses access to broadband networks without the cost of deploying and maintaining new fixed networks,” he said.
