How to get rid of bad breath

Miriam Kwari Herbal Column

Hello friends, I welcome you all back to another edition of “Your health, Your wealth” with your dearest friend and Herbalist Nyasha . In this looming time of Covid-19 remember that it is important to look after yourself by eating healthy and enjoying a refreshing cup of Gaviola Tea or Juice.

Bad Breath (Halitosis): A refreshing remedy

You don’t have to eat onions to have bad breath. And you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to realise that everyone around you backs away when you talk to them. You probably need an oral odor eater.

Disorders such as gum disease also known as gingivitis harbor bacteria and can give a foul odor to your breath. If no localised problem exists, and if you haven’t had any onions or garlic lately, bad breath would probably be a result of a toxic bowel or a sour stomach.  When bad breath is due to a sour stomach, food enzymes will help support your digestion and get to the cause of the problem. Enzymes will also help you get to the cause of the problem.

Remember to call me, your friendly neighborhood herbalist Nyasha for some enzyme digestion pills that will ensure that the food you eat is broken down better so that you are eliminating more efficiently. Enzyme ablets are best taken before food.

Chlorophyll: Nature’s Deodoriser

Ntakambokudzayi, Green juice Gaviola has got chlorophyll which is a green pigment that is found in plants. It works as one of the best deodorisers of the body. Liquid chlorophyll can be swallowed straight, put in water or juice, or taken in capsule form which we have.

Liquid Chlorophyll takes the smell out of the body and neutralises acids in the body that can make you smell.

Its also good for helping to cleanse the bowel, which is where man materials are harbored.

The various uses of Liquid Chlorophyll are as follows

  • Deodorising the body
  • Building up blood count in cases of anemia
  • Stopping bleeding when applied externally to the wounds.
  • Supporting the digestive system
  • Restoring minerals in the body after depletion
  • Clearing up skin conditions
  • Providing energy
  • Easing sore throats when used as a gargle
  • Speeding the healing of canker sores

Gee, your breath smells terrific

Until the chlorophyll kicks in you can use a dab of pure peppermint oil on your tongue to refresh your breath. Peppermint is stimulating and will give you a little lift too.

What I would advise you to do is get yourself a bottle of peppermint oil from me.

Once you do this you can carry it in your bag, purse or wallet then use the oil and rub it on your tongue or gums to make your whole mouth feel refreshed.

Peppermint also is an activating herb that is used as flavoring in hard candy. Not only does it aid in digestion by stimulating digestive juices, but it also has been useful in stimulating mental alertness.

Using apples

Apples in the daily diet treat obesity, anemia, insomnia, catarrh and sinus headaches, halitosis, tuberculosis heart disease, gallstones, asthma, gonorrhea, nausea, vomiting, and worms.

Who doesn’t like the refreshing taste of an apple? Fruits such as these eliminate foul tastes in the mouth and get you one step closer to eliminating that halitosis.

I thank you for your time once again. Please stay safe and God bless you and your families
