HERENTALS coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva says his men are in good touch ahead of their match against Triangle in today’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League’s lunch-time kick-off at the National Sports Stadium.

Yadah and Mutare City Rovers will also square off at the same venue at 3pm.

“We are playing well and there is now a sense of self-belief within the boys which is good and we are confident it will take us away from the relegation zone,” said Mutiwekuziva.

In the later match Yadah Stars battle Mutare City Rovers with the hosts set to miss three key players due to injuries.

Yadah Stars coach, Thomas Ruzive, said they were unlikely to have the trio of Leeroy Mavhunga, Regis Dongo and Simba Sithole who are all out injured.

‘’Our intention is to move away from the position we are in and that can only be achieved through collecting maximum points in tomorrow’s game.

‘’We are happy we will be at home but football is funny at times so we just hope for the best.

“It is a huge setback to miss some of your best players, especially in a game like this. There is need to adjust and that is what we will try and do, there are some good replacements and we will use them,” said Ruzive.

Ruzive’s opponents Mutare City Rovers are coming from a 1-1 draw against Herentals at Vengere last Sunday.

Mutare City Rovers officials, however, had a torrid time trying to convince their players to board the team bus and travel to Harare yesterday for their match against Yadah.

The players refused to fulfil the fixture in protest against non-payment of their salaries and bonuses.

Players said they were owed four months’ salary as well as bonuses from the matches they have either won or drawn.

Mutare City Rovers finally left Mutare after lunch-time yesterday after the officials managed to convince the players to have a change of heart.

“Yes, the team is facing some serious financial constraints at the moment due to the shoe-string budget allocated to the team,’’ club spokesperson, Clayton Masekesa, said.

“We are currently trying to have audience with the players. We are aware that some senior players that include Themba Ndlovu, Washington Pakamisa and Tafadzwa Dube are leading the revolt.”
