ZIFA Northern Region Division One log leaders Herentals Under-20 continued with their fine form for as they managed to snatch a goallessl draw away to Kariba Waves yesterday.

The Paul Benza-coached side has now gone for four games without conceding a goal and are still to be beaten.

Herentals Under-20 work as a feeder to Premiership side Herentals and have had a strong start to the season.

The other matches saw title favourites Black Mambas also managing to collect maximum points at home against FC Mbare National.

The Police outfit managed to score the fastest goal so far this season as they found the target through Archford Nyamachiwa 20 seconds into the match  and their coach John “Toto” Ncube said they did not play their best game.

“We are happy with the maximum points but my boys did not play their best game.  I think they underrated the side only to find out that it is a competitive side and we could not raise the game.

“The solitary early strike gave them unnecessary confidence and we went to sleep of which we needed to score goals as they will be important at the end of the season.  “There is need to continue working hard and it is still early to determine who some of the favourites are but we will fight hard,” said Ncube. FC Mbare National who are under the guidance of Romeo Kabesha and Evans Gwekwerere are finding it tough in Division One as they have managed a single draw in their opening four games. Meanwhile, Harare Province Division Two will hold a training workshop for all newly promoted teams this weekend in the capital. The seminar is aimed at enlightening the administrators of what is expected in the region and Robert Tembo the league chairman confirmed the seminar.
