ZIFA Northern Region Division One League leaders Herentals Under-20 kept their flying start to the season intact after dismissing Back Tigers 2-0 to remain the only team with a 100 percent record.

The youth side of Premiership outfit Herentals have shown they mean business, with assistant coach Steven Mudavapi attributing their fine run to hard work.

“It not by coincidence that we are on top of the log, but it is the results of hard work. We have been working hard throughout the off-season and the results are showing for themselves’’.

“The players have improved a lot and I can foresee many of them gaining promotion to the top flight if they continue with their fine performances.

“We are a development side, but we can as well target the championship as we are in the league to win titles, so we will not relax (and) avoid relegation only, but fight all the way,” said Mudavapi.

In other games, Nesbert Saruchera’s Cranborne Bullets could only manage a share of the spoils away at Golden Valley, while pre-season favourites Black Mambas secured a fine 3-1 win over PAM United.
