THE Meteorological Services Department has warned of heavy rains which could result in flash floods starting from mid                    week.
The department’s head of Public Weather Service, Mr Tich Zinyemba said the forecast indicates that heavy downpours would be experienced from mid this week.
He urged farmers not to worry over the current hot spell, adding that the rains are expected from around Wednesday and Thursday with as much as 50 millimetres predicted.

The Meteorological Services Department had earlier on predicted that the official rain season would start mid-November and farmers had started to express worry after a prolonged dry spell.
Normal to above normal rains are expected in the 2013/14 season. —  ZBC News.
