HARARE City coach Mark Harrison says his charges are content with the underdog tag going into tomorrow’s Castle Lager Premiership tie against CAPS United at Rufaro. The club punched above their weight in the first half of the season by accumulating 28 points in 17 matches.

Harrison is back in the country after a short trip to England.
“Whenever you play CAPS, Dynamos or Highlanders you know you are in for a big and tough game,” said Harrison
“CAPS are an experienced team, they’ve got a lot of good players who have been around for some time.

“They’ve won the league, they’ve played in the CAF Champions League and they know what the story is.
“We are going into the game as the underdogs, but we want to go in and try to perform. I am putting no pressure on my players to win this game.

“We go into the game, we want to play well, we want to give a good performance, an entertaining display and if we take something out of the game, we will be happy.”

Besides the gaffer himself, Harare City also have in their ranks some players like Moses Muchenje and captain Tendai Samanja who played for Makepekepe.

“Mark (Mathe) knows CAPS inside out, but in the end it’s that, but when it comes to the game, it is the implementation by the players, once they walk over the white line, it’s what they do,” said Harrison.

“If they implement the tactics in the right manner, you get yourself an opportunity and if they don’t, you don’t get the opportunity, but after 90 minutes I’ll give you the answer.

“I think there is a misconception about resting, I think in Africa coaches think they must train twice a day, four hours each session everyday of the week, every month of the season.

“This is wrong because the players physically get tired and mentally get tired, they need to rest. There has to be a good balance between under-training and over-training. If you get the balance right then you will get the best from your players.”
Captain Tendai Samanja is expected to pass a late fitness test today ahead of the fixture against his former paymasters.
