A Harare man is offering a US$5 000 reward to anyone with information that might assist him to locate his two daughters who he said have been missing for over 50 days now, as the battle for custody for the two minors continue.
This development comes after the man and the children’s mother divorced sometime in 2017.
The two kids — Imara and Margaret Severa — are aged nine and eight.
Their father, Mr Tinashe Severa has been claiming that the kids have been missing since June 10.
“I am offering a reward of US$ 5 000 to anyone who can provide us with information about my daughters.
“I kindly appeal to anyone who can help me to find my two daughters,” he said.
He said he was married to Wadzanai Mabveni but they divorced in 2017.
“From the marriage we had two daughters Imara and Margaret Severa. Wadzanai Mabveni relocated to Canada in January 2023. She left the girls with a caretaker Sophia Badza after she refused to leave the children with either myself or her parents. Sophia Badza went on to physically abuse these children and Mabveni came back in July 2023 and left the children with me.
“The child abuse trial for Sophia Badza is ongoing with trial continuation. She came back in May 2024 after losing her job in Canada. On June 12, 2024 we were advised that the girls were no longer attending school and had last attended school on 10 June 2024. Since that day she has been unreachable and the children’s phones also. Neither the children or herself have been seen since June 10, 2024 up to now,” he said.
Mr Severa said they then filed a missing persons’ report on June 12, 2024 with the police who are also conducting investigations over the case.
