THE HARARE Metropolitan Province Handball Association have received a shot in the arm from a local food outlet who poured more than $20 000 as a sponsorship package for their 2019 season.

Bello City Foods on Wednesday night indicated they will roll out a sponsorship package worth $23 700.

The donation will feature two floating trophies for the winning male and female teams worth $600 each.

The company also availed medals for the teams that will finish the league in the top three. The sponsorship will see more than 21 teams in the province receiving playing kits worth $8 400.

There are 12 male clubs in the province and nine for women.

The club executives will get branded t-shirts and caps worth $1 200.

Bello Technical advisor, Darlene Chamangira, said the partnership will go a long way in promoting the sport in the country.

“We realised that handball needed recognition in our province, and nationwide, and by this partnership we can identify and promote more talent countrywide,” said Chamangira.

Harare Province Handball chairperson Ben Muzanenhamo promised to be good ambassadors of the brand.
