Hadebe happy to be back
Houston Dynamo defender Teenage Hadebe is elated to be back in action after an injury lay-off that sidelined him from Major League Soccer action in the US.
Hadebe was making his second successive start since returning from an injury last week, having been out for about five months when he broke his right leg and had to go under surgery.
He was on target in Sunday’s 1-2 defeat against Sporting KC before being taken off at half time.
“I feel good to be back after being on the side-lines for such a long time.
“I had missed playing and I’m happy that I’ve managed to recover well. Al thanks to everyone who was there during my recovery and made sure that I’m 100 percent fit.
“And scoring on the weekend’s game was icing on the cake. Was so excited to register my name on the score sheet.
“Being on target especially after coming from an injury really boosts my confidence going into the next games.
“Scoring is fun and I really hope that I get to score more goals going forward if Inkosi Ivumile (God allowing),” he said.
His first game for the club was on Thursday morning, playing the entire ninety minutes in Dynamo’s 4-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps.
On his return from an injury, Hadebe said:
“Injuries are a part of the game and what’s important is recovery and I’m happy that I’ve recovered and looking forward to having some game time.
“It wasn’t easy being on the side-lines, you know I love to play and do well for my team.
“It’s good to be back and I’m grateful to the opportunity the coach has been giving me. “Those minutes I was given to play mean a lot to me.”
