ZIMPAPERS Group yesterday gave grocery vouchers to more than 600 of its newspaper vendors nationwide as a token of appreciation for their hard work. Speaking after handing over the vouchers to the vendor’s representatives in Harare yesterday, the Group’s general manager for the Digital and Publishing Division Mr Marks Shayamano said the organisation was recognising the remarkable work done by the vendors and their contribution to the growth of the organisation.

“Initially we wanted to do something for them earlier. We could have done this on Christmas but due to other circumstances that did not happen and we had to do it today.

“We want them to know that we care about them, today all of them will walk into the shop and go home with something,” he said.

Zimpapers Vendors Association chairman Mr Thomas Kusvayi commended the group for recognising their efforts.  He said gestures of this nature motivate them to work even harder, knowing that the organisation has them at heart.

“On behalf of all the vendors, we are happy with what the organisation has done for us. This is commendable. We know they wanted to do this earlier but we understand the circumstances which limited them,” he said.

“We are also happy that the management is happy with how we are working that is why they are recognising us today. Gestures like this are motivational, we are proud of our management.”
