NEWLY-PROMOTED ZIFA Eastern Region Division One football side Grayham have written to the league’s administrators complaining about match officials.

The Ruwa-based side are making their debut season in Division One and felt hard done by in their third match where they fell 2-1 to United Lions at Magamba in Masvingo on Saturday.

United Lions had taken the lead in the 25th minute before the visitors replied through Wellington Zimunda five minutes later.

But an 87th minute goal gave the hosts victory.

Team director Gray Hama has since written to the Eastern Region about their concerns and hopes to get a response before this weekend’s matches.

“We have noted with concern the poor officiating by the referee who handled the match between Grayham and United Lions, which we felt should not go unchallenged.

“The match was officiated by Benjamin Mutungamiri, who was assisted by Robert Tangai and one Mwadira.

‘’As a club, we felt that the referee’s decision let our team down.

“We appeal to you, considering that teams are affiliating and even paying for this improper conduct.’’
