People should give back to their communities and empower those in need of life changing projects, Senate President and Zanu PF Secretary for Women Affairs Cde Mable Chinomona has said.

Cde Chinomona said this while donating a pastoral vehicle to her rural home’s United Methodist Church Musanhi Circuit.

She was accompanied by her family members and party leadership led by Central Committee member and Women’s League Secretary for Transport and Welfare Cde Marben Nkatazo.

A church service was held where Cde Chinomona and partners blessed congregates with an assortment of goodies, including mealie meal and rice, boxes of bathing and washing soap.

“Like any other community, we have seen people coming back and making sure that in the communities they come from the standard of living has been uplifted,” she said. “So this is what l was trying to show, so that others can emulate.” she said.

Accepting the vehicle on behalf of the church, Pastor Norbert Chirauro said the donation was timely and would make it easier to spread the gospel.

“In East Hunyani Circuit, the homesteads are miles apart so it was a challenge to minister the word of God as there are congregates who are now old and can no longer walk to church, so there is need of personal visits,” he said.

“We are grateful for the vehicle donated to this circuit. May the dear Lord bless Honourable Chinomona and her family.”

Mutoko Rural District Council vice chair Councillor Chipo Shambare hailed Cde Chinomona for retracing her footsteps.

“She has set a good example to all in different walks of life, of making life easier in communities they grew up,” she said.

“As councillors, we have seen tangible things from our leaders who walk the talk in delivering promises.”
