Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, who caused a stir a few years ago when she performed in a bar, has decided to return to nightspot performances.

The musician, who recently announced she is not a church person will be performing at Bar Rouge tonight.

This is the first time that the musician will be performing at the venue.

In an interview, Fungisai said people must come expecting a lot of surprises.

“I will be working at Bar Rouge on Friday, (tonight) doing my work. I will be doing what I know best and what I can say is that people must come in their numbers and be expectant because I can assure you that I have a lot of surprises in store for the night,” she said.

Commenting on the songs that she will be performing, the “Makomborero” hit maker said she will take songs from her previous albums.

“I have 13 albums to date so what I do when I perform I read the crowd and see what they want, therefore I am going to pick songs depending on the crowd that I am going to be performing for,” she said.

She also highlighted that she is going to have collaborations with a number of artists but could not mention names since she said it will ruin the surprise.

“I have done a number of collaborations with different artists and people must look forward to surprise appearances during my performances,” she said.

Meanwhile, Bar Rouge entertainment manager Sheba Motsi said they have decided to bring in Fungisai as a way of bringing in variety to the venue.

“Our venue is for different people who are from different backgrounds so we try by all means to bring in a variety of artists to cater for our different crowd.

“We are looking forward to a great night with Fungisai and are optimistic that she will not disappoint,” she said.
