Kuwadzana residents were, over the weekend, treated to an early Christmas present courtesy of Daniye Dental clinic in partnership with Domboshava Medclinic.

They provided free health check-ups, health awareness and screening of dental disease, BP checks, weight checks, Jadelle insertions among other services.

Residents applauded the efforts and urged the organisers to consider having the events regularly.

Over 400 Kuwadzana residents benefited from the free medical checks across all ages from elderly to children. Denis Kalifasi (49) expressed joy at the development and thanked the organisers for the initiative.

“I’m 49 years old now, this is my first time to undergo blood pressure and dental checks. Today I have learnt that it is critical to have regular checks,” he said.

Reverend Promise Fambisai said such services would go a long way in promoting good health habits among the residents.

The Director of the event Dr Farayi Mayana said they gave the free services as part of their corporate social responsibility in appreciation of the support they receive from the community. He added that it was also a way of complementing Government efforts for easy accessibility of health facilities for everyone.

“200 people went for dental checks, 150 Bp and 50 for Jadelle insertions, removal and other family planning methods. The whole of next weekend will see similar health promotions at Domboshava Medclinic near Mungate village, Domboshava. Residents of the area and nearby must diarise, prevention is better than cure.”

Dr Moyana also thanked Celebration Health, Population Services Zimbabwe and various stakeholders who partnered for the success of the health promotional event.
