France pledges to assist Zimbabwe

France has pledged to help capacitate the Parliament of Zimbabwe to ensure that the legislative assembly effectively discharges its oversight role as envisaged by the Constitution.
The country’s ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Laurent Chevallier said his country was ready to facilitate in various exchange programmes that can help deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The diplomat said this in an interview with journalists soon after paying a courtesy call on Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda at his office at Parliament building.
Adv Mudenda described his meeting with Amb Chevallier as fruitful and he handed over to him a document on Electoral and Economic Reforms in Zimbabwe post 2018 harmonised election compiled by Parliament to enable the diplomat to have an appreciation of political and economic issues in the country.
