THE First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe yesterday castigated Mazowe South legislator Cde Fortune Chasi, whom she accused of terrorising her in Mazowe where she runs her Amai Grace Mugabe Children’s Home.
She said Cde Chasi was spreading falsehoods and other unfounded allegations aimed at tarnishing the name of the First Family.

Amai Mugabe made the revelations to thousands of youths who gathered at her children’s home to endorse the Women’s League resolution requesting her to lead the organ.

She said Cde Chasi moved around alleging that President Mugabe and herself wanted to take all the land in Mazowe.

“I must be open and honest,” said Amai Mugabe. “Muno muconstituency muno tina MP munyowani, ini handinyatsomuzivi anonzi (Fortune) Chasi . . .

“Ndakangonzwawo kuti ane mari sitereki saka anenge achienda kumalawyer. Zvazvakaita ndakaita apply pane conservancy iri kuseri uko which was being run by the whites.

“Ndikangoona yakagara, then I applied to use it to raise mari yekuchengeta vana pano apa ndobva ndapiwa tsamba inini. Saka vanhu vakangozvigarisa vaichera chera imomo vakanzi vabude, iye akati ‘muri kuvaburitsirei? Mugabe nemukadzi wake vari kuda kutora land yese’.

“Akaenda kucourt nevanhu vaye kuti kana hazvimboite. Iye akapiwa farm naVa (Martin) Dinha akariramba. Akatengwa nemurungu akapiwa mari akati handiride.”

Amai Mugabe said Cde Chasi also made false allegations that she engineered the eviction of a certain sangoma who was staying at Henderson Farm, yet the sangoma was expelled by the Mashonaland Central leadership.

Amai Mugabe said the sangoma was involved in gold panning at the farm.

She said she had running battles in the area with people who accused her of grabbing land, including a farm belonging to Interfresh.

Amai Mugabe said she applied for some land from the Mashonaland Central leadership and was allocated a portion of Interfresh Farm that was lying idle.

“But mukati medu futi vamwe votuma vanhu kuti endai munoshungurudza mukadzi waMugabe abve ikoko,” she said. “Kwakauya mayouths 300 ndobva vakutanga kungochera mazikomba anenge anokwana musha uno … two weeks later vakauya vave 1 000.”

Speaking at the same occasion, Zanu-PF Secretary for Women’s Affair’s Cde Oppah Muchinguri said she decided to relinquish her post after noticing nasty things that were being done by some party members.

“President vari kuti mafarm ipai ma- youths, ivo vari kutora vachipa vana vavo,” she said. “Migodhi ndeyavo, ma- diamonds ndeavo, fertiliser ndedzavo.

“Mukaona ndasvikawo neWomen’s League kuti kwete nguva yatasvika iyi zvave kutoda Mai kuti vaone zvinhu zvaita musangano, mbavha dzakaitwa nursed naPresident dzakaba mamines, dzakaba mapurazi dzanakirwa zvino dzave nematumbu akadai . . . vave kuda zvino kuti dai President vachibva vachengete loot yavo.”

The function was also attended by Zanu-PF Politburo members Cdes Nicholas Goche, Saviour Kasukuwere, Ednah Madzongwe, Edson Chakanyuka and Patrick Zhuwawo.
