First Farai, who recently grabbed the headlines after being arrested for beating a fan in Hwedza, returns to Mashonaland East province this week and tonight he performs in Marondera. Yesterday the musician said he has leant from the Hwedza incident and would go to the province with a different attitude. “I have seen that our careers have ups and downs and that recent incident has given me some problems and I will have to behave differently this time around and avoid a repeat of the incident,” he said.

The musician said he was now working on a new album that will be released next month.

“I was disturbed by the death of (producer) Tymon Mabaleka so we are going back to the studio at the end of this month,” said Farai.

In Marondera he shares the stage with Zakaria Zakaria at Legends Bar.

“We are trying everything so that we reach out to a number of places so we have decided to work together,” said Farai. Zakaria who has worked with Alick Macheso and his brother Nicholas Zakaria has released the album “Zviroto” that he is taking to the people. Show promoter Daniel Masaiti said he wanted the musicians to meet their fans in the Mashonaland East capital.

“Most artistes would think that big artistes come and perform here but we don’t select musicians.

“They are all equal and we give them the same treatment,” said Masaiti.

He said they have prepared for the show that is likely to draw crowds as their music is popular in that part of the country.
