MIGHTY Warriors coach Rosemary Mugadza yesterday announced the final 18 players to take on Botswana on Thursday in the first leg of the African Women Championships qualifiers first round matches in Molepolole.
Zimbabwe begin their campaign away from home hoping for a win and yesterday Mugadza named a team, which is mostly made up of experienced players, ahead of their departure tomorrow.

The Mighty Warriors coach retained veteran players such as Ruvimbo Mutyavaviri, Felistas Muzongondi, Marjory Nyaumwe and Nokuthula Ndlovu.
However, they will be missing the services of strikers Erina Jeke and Rutendo Makore due to injuries but Mugadza believes the players they have will deliver.

“We had Rutendo Makore when we travelled to Egypt and she has a knee injury. She is not with the team as well as Erina Jeke because of her back but of we have made sure that we have people who can cover up for them.

“We have Kudakwashe Bhasopo who is a seasoned player and top goal scorer at Rhinos and she has done well as well as Talent Mbepo, she is playing for Cyclone Stars and she did well when they played against Flame Lily in their (NetOne) quarter-final.

“I think the guys that we have will be able to do the duty on Thursday. And no one is new to the team, they have been coming having training sessions with the Mighty Warriors,” said Mugadza.

Mugadza said players were in good shape having participated in the NetOne Charity Shield last week and were raring to go.
“I think for the past week they have showed enthusiasm, maybe considering that they played over the weekend in the NetOne competition and they are looking sharp and we hope when we leave on Sunday everyone will be ready for the match.

“We need to qualify at all costs and we have been talking to them that we need to have a win away for us to qualify,” said Mugadza.
