Many fight for positions in church, to be leaders, elders and overseers. It is one thing to lead and another thing to have the baton.

John 21; 15-17 reads: “So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, love thou me more than these? He said unto him, yes Lord; thou know that I love thee.

“He said unto him, feed my lambs. He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, love thou me?

“He said unto him, yes, Lord; thou know that I love thee. He said unto him, feed my sheep.

“He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, love thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Love thou me?

“And he said unto him, Lord, thou know all things; thou know that I love thee. Jesus said unto him, feed my sheep.”

Jesus had died, buried and on the third day he rose up with the keys, but he spent forty days before going back to the Father, visiting not only his disciples.

We hear of a hundred at one time and 500 another time, this is the time he was handing over the baton.

Our fights for the territory is summed up today were I would like to encourage everybody reading this article to fight for the baton.

The reason why Bishops run around, going out of their way to preach the gospel all over is because we do not know were Elisha is.

Elijah gave the baton to one man, but Jesus gave it to 500 men, out of that number only a few of them were ready for it, 380 people departed. It doesn’t matter whether you are a man or woman, young or old, a day has come for you to rise up, take the baton and run your race.

Moses, for forty years was with Joshua, when the master went to the door of the tent the latter followed him.

After those years God said to the latter, what you were seeing Moses do all these years you shall do as well.

Elijah and Elisha lived together for almost fourteen years, finally the former started behaving funny saying tarry here the Lord has sent me to Bethel, Jericho and Jordan respectively, fortunately the former refused because he was focused on getting the baton.

Jesus, after enjoying the fish for many years asked Simon the same question thrice, this time the baton was coming to Peter, the rest of the disciples also got their portion.

It was Peter who preached at the day of Pentecost and 3 000 souls were added to Christ, he opened the door of the gospel after Jesus had died, firstly to the Gentiles in the house of Cornelius.

It is unfair to get preached to and keep the gospel to yourselves, to have a church of a thousand congregants, but not even having at least 50 people with the baton.

Of course, one cannot retire as a pastor, but we must see young people do the work of Christ as I and your Apostles do; the old must stand up and do exploits.

Somebody must receive the impartation to walk by faith, tap into that anointing.

Ask what you desire, great man of God with powerful ministries, big business men and people who will travel the earth as ambassadors, preaching the gospel must be born.

Elisha got many gifts to the extent of his bones resurrecting a dead soldier who died during the war; truly it will be a pity to have so many people following Jesus, but non tapping into the anointing, God is a generational God, he wants to use you, allow Him.

Wild people who seek the face of God must rise up now, this is the time.

Get the stick now, it does not follow money but money follows it, it’s never over until it’s over.
