FC PLATINUM Under-19 were the biggest winners when they thrashed struggling Zifa Central Region Division One soccer league side Silo United 7-1 at Mandava at the weekend. The miners appear to have hit a purple patch after they dismissed Chrome Stars 2-0 the previous week. The platinum miners moved one place up the table into seventh position.

Blessing Sahondo struck a hat-trick, Clifton Mwale grabbed a brace while Kelvin Dingali and Benjamin Mukundu each scored a goal.
Silo United got their consolation through an own goal by Clayton Phiri.

Silo have been enduring a rough patch and lost their last tie, ahead of the game against FC Platinum Under-19, when they succumbed to a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Hwahwa.

Hwahwa are back at the top of the table after taking over from Tongogara who were held for the second time in a row and now trail the pacesetters by a point.

Tongogara, who are under the guidance of Ignatius Kapitapita, had been held to a 2-2 draw by another strong championship contender ZRP Beitbridge, who are now in third place.

And the Battlefields side struggled to a 1-1 draw against Gwanda-based side Vumbachikwe during the weekend.
There was a change of leadership in the Zifa Eastern Region Division One soccer league with Buffalo Junior returning to the top of the table after a 1-0 win over Ruwa United.
